Kayak hunting

Looking at a 12-foot, sit-on-top Native Watercraft Manta Ray series at Get Outdoors (294-3918) for $749. Weighs 58 pounds.

"The Native Watercraft Manta Ray 12 Sit On Top Kayak incorporates a sleek V hull design to provide stability and smooth sailing. It is light and easy to handle, making it the perfect choice for everything from river paddling to skipping over waves at the coast.

* Deck fittings are recessed to minimize line snags, and generous flat surfaces make it simple and easy to install your favorite tackle.

* The large stern recess accommodates a crate or cooler."

Store employee named Will says it's a jack-of-all trades type boat: good for fishing, rivers, oceans, lakes, etc. Also noted for its comfortable seat. Cushiony. Can lean back a little. V-hull design makes paddling more efficient. Easy to climb in if go in water. Can dangle feet in water. Will says they have a red on in stock.

Harmony Figerglass shaft padde & MTI Calcutta/Fisher pro life jacket (8 useful pockets, side straps, mildew resistent) - $80
Angler kit (flush mount rod holder, deck mount rod holder, 1.5-pound anchor, cleat and padeye, 30-foot anchor line, 1 pair locking paddle holders (free installation) - $90
